If you are 14 or older, and want to take the Entry ref. (old Level 4 and 3), click here, as registration for these is through BC Soccer. The Entry level course will be held Oct. 16th-18th IF THERE IS SUFFICIENT INTEREST.  Please register before Oct. 9th, or the course may need to be cancelled.

Procedures for Jr. Referees

Before the game, you should have a whistle, pencil, watch, and scorecard(s).  It's useful to have a watch with a timer, to time the halves.  Blank scorecards are in the box on the North side of the concession. 

Introduce yourself to the 2 coaches before game start time.  It's suggested that you be at the field 10 mins. before game time.  Write down the team numbers and divison (e.g. U11 boys team 2 vs. 5).  Start all games on time.  If a game starts late then the playing time is shortened to allow the following game to start on time.  However, if there is no following game then play the regular game length.

At the end of the game, one of the coaches needs to  sign your scorecard.  Be sure to hand it in to the box at the end of the concession completed - Jose uses these cards to calculate your pay at the end of each half-season.  You will be paid by cheque around the end of November, and then in April, after the end of each half season.  Pay rates are below.

To sign-up for games, on Saturday lists will be posted by the concession.  They'll be up from about 9:30 am to 12 noon.  Please check your own schedule, or have a copy available, when you sign up, and a piece of paper to write down the times and the field locations.  A field map is under "Field Update" on the website.  If you can't make a game, you may call someone on the ref. list that will be emailed to you.  YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FINDING YOUR REPLACEMENT if you can't attend!  Please do not sign up for more than 1 game per day, to give other people a chance to ref.  If we are short referees, then I will phone on Monday and Tuesday night for the following Saturday.
