SYSA Technical Director, Jonas Worth, and Quest University are proud to present “Ginga in the Gym: an Intro to Brazilian Soccer Development”. These 1-hour futsal sessions will be held indoor on several upcoming Sundays and focus on the technical/tactical awareness developed by all youth players in Brazil. Players like Robinho, Marta and other famous Brazilians played the 5-a-side game up to the age of 12/13 and it remains the most common way to learn all-around skill in the country that has won 5 World Cups.
The sessions will be drop-in (no commitment required) for a fee of $10 each (please bring exact change). The address for the Quest University gym is 3220 Village Drive, Squamish and parking may be found adjacent to the outdoor field just off of Mamquam. Mandatory equipment: non-marking indoor soccer shoes or sneakers with a light colour, non-marking tread. Absolutely no boots or other types of cleats/turf shoes may be warn in the gym.
The first two dates to “ginga” (pronounced JIN-ga) are December 4th and 11th. The sessions are co-ed and will have the following age groups:
930-1030am: U7/U8
1030-1130am: U9/U10
1130-1230pm: U11/U12
1230-130pm: U13/U14
