About Us

The Squamish Youth Soccer Association (SYSA) is a volunteer, not for profit, organization with the objective of providing the youth of Squamish from the ages of 5-17 the opportunity to play soccer.  This usually ends up being around 800-900 kids.  There are two streams the organization manages, house and travel/rep.  Players can only participate in one stream in a season.

The house stream/league is open to all children and its focus is learning, playing, and fun.  The house league plays on Saturdays and the season runs from September-November, breaks for the worst of winter, then resumes mid-February and ends in early April. The league has separate divisions for boys and girls which aggregate several age groups (e.g. U7 for 5 & 6 year olds).

The travel/rep stream is for players with the ability and enthusiasm to play at a more competitive level.  Players must attend try-outs for travel teams.  These teams play in lower mainland leagues and, thus, travel quite a bit.  The travel stream requires a larger commitment from players and parents than the house stream.

All our coaches are volunteers as well and we really appreciate them.  If you think you'd like to coach please contact us (we'll even pay for most coaching courses you may take).

House league games for U11 and lower divisions are refereed by accredited youth.

Players and their families must conduct themselves appropriately with respect to referees, coaches, and other players.  Bad behaviour will not be tolerated.
